Hello Everyone,

I haev been on Nplate and steriods for the past year. Along with IVIG treatments, a spleenectomy, and some platelet tranfusions. I have not been able to stabilize during this time.
I recently went to a specialist and he told me not to get pregnant and take the Nplate.
He has suggested to try 4 treatments of rituxin along with steriods, over a 4 week period. This may put me into a remission. After my first diagnoses, I went into remission for 10 years! After 3-4 months, the rituxin should be out of my body and I can try and have another child.
I am nervous and scared about putting the rituxin in my body, any thoughts????
Thank you
jessica

Jessica - the manufacturer of Rituxan states that a person should not conceive for a year after Rituxan treatments. That is the recommendation. However, it could cause a remission that could last longer than a year, you never know.

Many people have had Rituxan with few problems.
