Remission? was created by Ann
I know I'm far too early to hope but last week's count on the lowest dose of Nplate was 191 so I only used half a dose and this week I'm at 241 so I'm not injecting at all. I wonder if Nplate can trigger a remission. That would be something wouldn't it?

That would be amazing, Ann! Theoretically, it shouldn't, but you never know.

That would be awesome Ann! I hope to see your count holding next week! I would say you are in "drug-induced" remission because you are still on Nplate, even if it is just a half of a mcg.

I kept thinking with Caitlin going so high, that it would take a long time for her to go back down, but it is hard to believe she could go from 700 numbers down to double digits in one week. We are at the point where we just have to go with the flow and don't even try to guess counts anymore. Either treat if her count is low or don't treat if her count is high. Her dr is working with the drug company to get her dosage down quite a bit though. (Currently on 8 mcg/kg, would go to 7 mcg/kg, but her dr wants to go to 5 mcg/kg, which I'm guessing is about .3 ml/kg)

Since splenectomy is pretty much out of the picture, we really need to try to keep her on Nplate so that she can continue with her activities. That reticulin always stays at the back of my mind though and I wonder if/when they will be scheduling her next bone marrow test.
