Hello,

I just wanted to get some input from everyone out there. I was on 25mg of prednisone with a count of 135!! I went down to 20mg on Saturday and my count is 68! Now we all know that as an ITP patient 68 is amazing and I am very happy!
I am going to remain at 20mg for a bit and hope count does not drop to low.
Has anyone found that with a dosage of 20mg the side effects starting diminishing? I am sick and tired of the fat, the horrible red stretch marks on my stomach, the moon face etc etc...

Sorry no not for me. 20mg is still in side effect land for me. Mine didn't go till I got down to 5mg.

I am just coming down from the 20mg and if dont ever take another steroid again so be it.

i guess that's depending on how long were you on steroids

if it's short time : side effects eliminated quickly

if it's long time : then u will have to wait long time for side effects to be eliminated

Thanks everyone! I guess it's gonna take awhile for me. I have been on the steriods for 1 1/2 years and hating every minute of it!

I was on 25mg of pred and it hasn't really woked. I am now on 12 and a half and still not working really well.
