actually "we're" on! I actually started my Rituxan today! The 5th time is a charm! My favorite nurse was there this week and she found the port with the first poke! I was excited. I only had a slight reaction. Within the first 2 hours I got a really stuffy nose, the roof of my mouth and my ears itched and I got a really bad sore throat. They stopped it for a little over 1/2 hour. After that if all went well. She assured me that next time it would only take 3 hours instead of the 6 it took today. We'll see about that! Oh and no NPlate today, my count was 287! I asked about it. I think if I didn't mention what I've read here they may have given me another dose! And....how will we know if the Rituxan is working if I'm still on the NPlate. I know the Rituxan takes a couple+ weeks to work. I dunno, I guess we'll see.

If I read your post correctly, are you on your 5th Rituxan regimen? My retreatment did not work at all. (See my post "Rituxan ReTreatment Didn't Work " and the posts associated with it. My retreatment also directly followed the N-Plate regimen. I hope yours contiunes to be successful. Lemme know when you first started Rituxan and how often you went for the retreatment. Maybe your Doc uses the good stuff and I got the stuff that was out of date.

no, not the 5th treatment, the 5th time trying to start it! There was always something to stop it. I've only had one dose of it. Sorry for the confusion.

Had a course of rituximab last September, it didnt work. Tried again in April the first drip took 20 hours as I had a bad reaction so they slowed it right down. It was terrible watching it drip, drip, drip.

oh my! Did you have more treatments after the first 20 hour one? Where are your counts now? I'm very anxious to see where my counts are on Friday since I didn't have the NPlate last week.

Because of other conditions that I have, they always kept me in hospital overnight.
The other 3 infusions went well.

My counts now are in the 30s. My GPs nurse is coming to do my fasting bloods tomorrow, checking diabetes and cholesterol. I am getting stressed as if it’s below 30 then its ivig again.

Yep 30s are fine by me, today platelets are 48. Not big counts but I am happy with them, I think it was worth having the rituximab this time.

yeah! 48 is good! How about the other tests? trusting they are ok. I'm looking forward to tomorrow to see where my counts are. Not so much looking forward to the Rituxan, but it'll be alright!
