Caitlin's Rituxan Remission continues... was created by wildroseao@aol.com
Hello all!

It has now been 7 years, 6 months of remission for our Caitlin after she received the standard 4-dose Rituxan treatment in Sept.-Oct. 2002. B) She was 15 years old at the time, and prior to that, only Dex pulses had worked to boost her counts; she had tried IVIg and WinRho with little effect. Between monthly pulses, she'd drop like a rock. We didn't ever let her get down to the 2K she was diagnosed with, because that was a bloody mess, requiring hospitalization and surgery for a menstrual cycle that just wouldn't quit. :X N-Plate and Promacta were not in the picture in 2002. She has needed no other treatment since then, and was dismissed by her hemotologist several years ago. She hasn't had a CBC in about 2 years, but has had no symptoms of ITP since Rituxan.

To infinity and beyond! Thank you, Genentech! And thank you, PDSA! It was this forum and you wonderful people who informed us of it! Do you hear me, Ron??? Ann, Caitlin's Mom

Ann - every year when you update this, it makes me realize how old I'm getting. I remember when she was going through it! Good for her!
