Hello, all--It has been many years since I posted here about my daughter, Caitlin, who developed ITP at 14. In October, 2001, she nearly bled out from her menstrual cycle, and had to have an emergency D&C to stop it. The WinRho and IVIG did not much for her, and in 2002, she received the standard 4 doses of Rituxan. Her Girl Scout troop made a donation to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society in her honor. Her remission from that one set of treatments is ongoing-ish. Hasn't needed treatment again, counts are usually WNL. But she has been tentatively diagnosed with Lupus e., and her doctor feels that ITP was just her first symptom. APS was her second (hear me, Sandi???). Doc feels she has a mild case of lupus...
Meanwhile, all the info I learned in those years has been a head start for me--as I have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. That's right, I now frequent the Leukemia Lymphoma site..... Talk about ironic.
