Promacta and the Steriod Blimp effect?

Promacta was one of the few treatments that actually worked numbers and feeling wise for even a while for me. My platelets only got up to the low 70's on Promacta (a huge deal for me) due to my doctor not wanting higher due to my few super/mega platelets. Well, Promacta stopped working bit by bit, and thus I started complaining about my energy level again and naps required again, the weight gain and thus "steriod blimp" without the Grrr feeling aka Promacta Blimp, and the feeling of just not so good (which I became accustomed to from having lived with ITP my entire life). As I was being weaned off of Promacta the best I could despite insurance and refill issues, I started also getting what I describe as Bone Marrow Aches of where my marrow in my thighs felt like it was trying to still work and build up my platelets on occassion. Thankfully, the Bone Marrow ache has left for good so it seems. Yes, I still have the Promacta Blimp effect.

Questions:
1. Anyone else get the Promacta Blimp effect? If so, how long before gone? Any tips on how to get rid of the Promacta Blimp? Sorry I don't remember how long it took me to loose my Steriod Blimp that years ago.

2. Anyone else gotten the Bone Marrow Ache?

TIA.

The “steroid blimp” effect is the weight gain, and the “moon face” from steroids such as Prednisone. Well, that’s a side effect I got from having been on Promacta.

Btw, I also have Graves/hyPerthyroidism, so I should have no problem with weight gain nor have to wear bigger clothes.

I've been a nurse for 46 years and never once heard the term blimp effect.
Weight gain is a known side effect of over treating Graves disease/Hyperthyroidism, but is not recognised as a side effect of Eltrombopag. In fact a common side effect of Eltrombopag is a decease in appetite. My weight has been completely stable for the 3½ years I have been taking it.

Never heard it called steroid blimp effect either and believe me I was the Pillsbury Dough Boy until prednisone was at a low dose.

Has your Graves Disease been treated? It isn't good to be hyper or hypothyroid! What are you doing for Graves? I have it - was treated but not with anti-thyroid med, they were nixed when my hematologist & endocrinologist got together & discussed "me".
