Flu season coming: question re flu vaccine

I am worried about getting the yearly flu vaccine: will it drop my counts?
I finished 4 rituxin treatments 8 weeks ago. (responded well)...my hematologist said it is likely that the immune response to the vaccine will be little or late (because of the rituxin) but suggested I do the vaccine anyway.
Does anyone have experience with vaccines dropping counts or "reactivating" ITP ? or maybe causing ITP?

I don't miss my flu shot and I don't have any issues with it.

You are going to get so many replies it won't be funny ;)
There are those totally against the flu shot or any type of vaccine, period.

I have been getting a flu shot every year since 1992 [diagnosed in 1989] and have never had my count go down [or up] from it.

There are reports here that the Flu vaccine has triggered their ITP (user 'mjocusa') and has reactivated ITP (user 'Ann'). In addition, some have reported the Flu itself as triggering ITP (user 'tacmom'). So with the Flu, the Flu vaccine, and ITP, one is screwed if you do and screwed if you don't vaccinate.

  • Diagnosed in 2000, at 59, after being on moderately high doses of NSAIDs for arthritis. Splenectomy and rituxan both failed (2004). Did well on prednisone till summer 2018--then terrible reactions. Promacta since 11-19.

I'm another person who has never noticed any change in platelets due to flu vaccine. I've had ITP since 2000, and I've had countless flu shots.
