Dear all,
One pierce of good news is that my insurance will cover 96% of Promacta. I am done with Pred. I had a life before corticosteroids and I want my life back. Sorry to sound like Trump but this is how I feel.

Now my doubt is, should I go directly to Promacta or should I try Rituximab. I heard some people get remissions with it.

Please advice:)
txs in advance

Personally, I will prefer Promacta. Rituximab is a heavy duty drug, which wipes out your B-Cell for 6 months. During that time, you will be easily getting an infection. A lot of people here were getting into remission with Promacta. Also, you could apply for manufacture copay program in the US. We only pay $25 per month for Promacta.

Thanks th8899 for the info. Well noted. How someone knows he/she gots into remmission on Promacta? Because the counts gets very high with the same dose suddenly?
The prospect of not taking corticoids makes me so happy :)

If your count is consistently in the normal range (150K+) with lowest Promacta dosage (12.5 mg). Then you could discontinue the Promacta to see what happen. If you are in remission, your count will hold. Otherwise, it will go down to your base level before you started on Promacta within 1-2 weeks.
