Nplate long term fatigue question

Nplate long term fatigue question was created by heyseuss
Hello! I've been on Nplate for approx 2 years. Prior to Nplate, was on eltrombopag for about a year, until it stopped working. Over the last probably 18 months, I have noticed a loss of energy, but now, it is really bad. I could honestly sleep for days if it wasn't for work, feel more tired when I wake up than I did when I go to bed.
Muscle fatigue is also getting progressively worse. If I cut the grass, the next day it feels like I had a full workout. Legs are sore and burning all the time, same with arms. Just brushing my hair causes muscle soreness, that lasts for about 20 min.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar, and if so, did you have a remedy ?
The only med I take is Nplate. I eat relitvely healthy, not overweight, early 40's, this round I've had ITP for about 6.5 years.
What I am trying to figure out...
Is it the Nplate, is it the ITP, is it something else, is it just normal aging??
Any ideas/experiences would be great to read. Thanks for reading !

It's possible that it is any of the above, but I'd suggest getting Vitamin and thyroid levels checked. Low D levels especially can cause all of those symptoms.

I would say not normal aging. If you are a woman, you might look into peri-menopause. I felt like that in my later 40s, weak muscles and exhausted. Also was exhausted when I had thyroid problems, low thyroid- felt cold, tired, hair loss. I have been on Nplate for 3 years and haven't had those symptoms, just occasional headache and insomnia. I've heard of some peoiple having joint pain with Nplate but not what you describe. I have recently been diagnosed with Lupus which I've experienced a fatigue upon waking. I feel worse after sleeping sometimes- "sleep that does not refresh".

One way to tell if its Nplate is to get off Nplate for a while. But what to use in place of Nplate? Eltrombopag can start working again after it has quit working. I believe I've heard that somewhere. 25mg didn't work for me at all, then 2 years later 25mg brought my counts right up within a week. So you never know with that drug. good luck finding answers!
