Dr. Planned to start me on Promacta.with an initial cost of $2,700.000 for one month and $400.00 for subsequent months. I am looking at N Plate. The Dr office financial person says it won't cost anything for N-Plate because it is given in a hospital setting (infusion lab).

Although not happy about weekly visits for the shot (40mi round trip), I'll be darned if I pay the price of Promacta. unless it is the last resort.

I am still trying to convince them to give me Rituxin again but there's a problem with that.iI see a new dr. this week to discuss the possibility of Rituxin .

I hear pros and cons of both N Plate and Promacta.Appreciate hearing from others who have done N Plate and the time it took to get stabilized enough to stop shots.Thanks.

I started N plate in July of last year. It worked well for me right away and I stabilized pretty quick. The last shot I have needed was January and hopefully this remission will stick!

Oddly enough getting off prednisone seemed to fluctuate my numbers allot and once I was off for some time the N plate was not needed.
