Prednisone for dental work

Prednisone for dental work was created by tj1989
My son needs a dental filling done. His last count a month ago was 29K. Our hemo said they are OK for dental treatment if count is above 50K. They suggested 5 days prednisone, and since it is short treatment, there is no need to slow tapering.
My question is: if we choose to do it, what potential side effects should we expect, and is 5 days treatment short enough to stop without tapering?
Thanks!

Do you know what the dose would be? That makes a difference, but 5 days is such a short time he may not have any side effects other than being more hungry than usual. Not tapering after 5 days should be fine.
