Has anyone here been diagnosed and treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis and ITP. I'm scared about the Rituxan my Dr. Is basically telling me my only option available is. If anyone has experience with this can you please share.

I know it is widely used for RA and now ITP. I had it myself with no difficulty although there are many possible side effects. But, as my doctor told me, there are potentially fatal side effects to lots of medications. Just listen to the TV when they advertise meds. They list everything under the sun. Seizures, strokes, death....talk to your doctor and come to a decision on what you can feel good about. The risk outweighed the possibilities for me.

It is not uncommon to be diagnosed with more than one autoimmune disorder. Quite a few of us have two or more.

What else have you tied? There are always other options.

Hi there!

I too have ITP and RA. I am doing nothing. My counts are typically 22k. My RA hurts, especially in my lower back and shoulders. I try to eat right and not to aggravate my body by eating and taking things that I really don't need.

I do realize that someday the pain will become not so manageable but for now it works.

Please keep me posted on your journey. I would like to know about the RA path you take.

thanks!

Jeffrey
