It's been a long time since I've posted... I'm Caitlin's (29, now!?) Mom, for any long-term people.
She was Dx'd at 14 years old with a platelet count of 2K, needed surgery to stop GYN bleeding and was down 2 pints of blood. She/we put up with Dex pulses for a year, and the rise-and-fall counts that went with them then she had 4 rounds of Rituxan in Fall, 2002 and has been in remission since then, with no side effects detected to date.

She still works training Guide Dogs, scuba dives, takes rowdy vacations, but no longer rides horses (now that she's paying!) ;)

Thanks to this site, she's living her life large. And I've reached 10 gallons in my pay-back blood donations! We tried to make something good out of the thing that was ITP. Ann, Caitlin's Mom
