No personal experience, but Revolade is similarly safe and effective in older adults as in younger adults, whereas splenectomy becomes less effective with age.

Efficacy and Safety of Eltrombopag in Elderly Patients with Chronic Immune Thrombocytopenia: Analysis of Five Clinical Trials
Conclusion: No significant difference in the safety or efficacy profile of eltrombopag was observed for elderly versus younger patients, although elderly patients seemed to exhibit slightly more robust responses and slightly more nonhemorrhagic adverse events (including thrombosis), which are not unexpected in an elderly population.

Revolade kept me above 30 for 3.5 years from age 65 to 68 but now I have hovered around 5 for 6 weeks. However everyone is different so good luck.
