Hi,my 6year has ITP with 6wks.platelets have been rock bottom and symptom wise she has the bruising/petechia/mouth blisters.so her haematologist has started her on steroids.she has had a bone marrow done.
My question is,she has had 1wk of high steroids & I noticed that the petechia & mouth blisters instantly disappeared.

The steroids can send the platelet count up very quickly so the symptoms will subside. Sadly the count usually falls again when the steroids are stopped. Usually children will get better with or without treatment.

Not sure what your question actually is. The steroids helped stop the immune attack on her platelets so her count has gone back up and her symptoms have disappeared. Many kids have acute ITP which eventually goes away so hopefully after tapering down and off the steroids her count will remain high. Fingers crossed.

That is exactly what is supposed to happen. She responds well to steroids....that's a good thing. I hope he tapers her slowly. If not, counts could crash back down. Good luck - maybe she will sustain the count. Some do.
