Rituxan is making me sick... was created by bethieofva
I know, I know, it is not suppose to have side affects or very few, but it is kicking my butt. I have had only one treatment with three more to go. I feel terrible. I feel flu like, body aches, jittery and GI issues. Whoa. I didn't expect anything. Anyone else?

Some people do have side effects. Feeling flu-like is one of them, but it doesn't usually last long. You should call your doctor and discuss it with him. If it is not tolerable for you, you might have to skip Rituxan and move on to something else.

My sister had horrible side effects including those you mentioned. It continued to get worse and she eventually stopped treatment not soon enough in my opinion. It was determined that she was allergic to the medication. Prayers you feel better soon.

How are you doing? Did the rituxan treatments go ok after the first one?

Yes, much better. I have had three now. They make me feel not great for a few days after. I am not sure if they will help, yet. My numbers went up then back down. Gosh, who knows?

Thanks for asking. How are you?

I hope the rituxan works for you. Sadly it was of no use to me. I am on promacta now and still working out the dose, but it has been nice to be symptom free and to feel like ther might be light at the end of the ITP tunnel. We will see! Nice to hear from you.
