I was diagnosed 8 months ago. Platelets were too low to measure. Responded well to Promacta. I am doing 12.5 mg every other day down from 75 every day at the start. Platelets vary from 180 to 210. Also take two eyedroppers of the papaya leaf extract every day. The only reminder that I have ITP is the bloodwork and the pills every other day. Hoping I'm in remission.

That is great! You do seem to be one of the lucky ones. Just curious, what treatments did you try before Promacta?

They went through the protocol with predinsone, ivig, dex., platelet transfusions, whole blood (I was getting anemic). Promacta is what they tried next, and it worked. Then we decided to taper the dose, all the while I have been taking two eyedroppers of the papya extract that people have talked about. I'm afraid to stop that.
