Usually, N-Plate is enough for most people to get a response. It can take a few weeks to work, but adding MTX probably won't make any difference in counts.

When the doctor gave my first shot with in two days my platelet count went up to 189k and he didn't want to give me another one the week after he said I was at risk of bloodclogs if he gave me a another shot being my platelets were high.

I started off with Nplate weekly and later went to fortnightly (two weekly) and then three weekly and then stopped it and my counts kept high. It took me three years to get that far but you may get there far more quickly if you are already on two weekly. I'd drop the methotrexate if it were me. That's an unusual treatment for ITP and very harsh.
