Leaning to one side......? Side effect from biopsy

Daughter aged 22, was diagnosed with ITP just under a month ago. On day 12 she had a bone marrow biopsy which took three attempts to get any. However, since the day after that she feels her body is leaning to one side when sitting or walking,

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

She mentioned it to her haematologist who said she had never heard anything like it before, but I wonder if they touched a nerve would they actually admit it anyway.

Appreciate your thoughts. Thank you,

I've never heard of it either. Maybe she just needs to heal a bit more and is used to favoring it. I don't think there are many nerves in the way of a bone marrow biopsy and if so, she would most likely feel nerve pain.

Thanks. I really appreciate you replying, would you know if it's a side effect of the Pred? Seems coincidental it started the same time.

I've never heard of it either. Sounds as though she may have got into the habit since the biopsy.

Hi Lily- Is she actually leaning to one side? or just feeling like shes leaning to one side?

Feeling like you are leaning to one side can be a symptom of inner ear disturbance.

Some say that it can be brought on by anxiety- perhaps anxiety affecting the inner ear? I don't know. I'd suggest Google "feeling like leaning to one side" and see if it sounds like what your daughter is experiencing.

I have an inner ear problem and it can be very distressing. I'm fairly certain mine is another auto-immune disorder because it went away when I was on high doses of prednisone. Then when I tapered it came back. It has to do with fluid in the inner ear. Went to an ear nose throat doctor but he had no answers for me.

Hope your daughter's problem resolves soon! good luck! p

Have never heard of that. I have had two biopsies in the past 10 yrs. Last was two weeks ago. Mabey needs a little more time to heal being it took 3 tries.

I wouldn't think it's a side effect of Prednisone unless it has made her a bit dizzy.
