Welcome. Some folks on here have had great success with oral dex pulses. My daughter tried it once, but didn't tolerate the steep drop in count after the pulse. It was worth a try, however. After the dex pulse, she had a nosebleed so bad she went to the ER and received her third IVIG treatment. Within a few months, her counts were rising to safer numbers on their own, and soon after that, she was having normal counts. I don't know whether to credit the treatments or to just assume her body righted itself. Remember that dex is a steroid, and has side effects (irritability, intolerance of heat, etc.). Please be careful about putting personal documents on the web. This is an open forum that anyone can see. I would suggest taking down the attachment, and blacking out the personal info before reposting the attachment if you think the attachment is necessary. (You can edit your own post.) As is a risk on every helpful open forum on the web, there have been some exploitive types who come here trying to sell stuff, and I'm sure there are those who would try to use personal information in any way they can.

Good luck. Hope your dex pulse helps, and your side effects are few.

Hi Nsath - welcome.

Dex is a steroid and a very potent one at that. Research has shown that doing the pulse six months in a row can cause remission for some. The side effects can be pretty harsh though.

Good luck to you, and please let us know how you are doing!

The roids will taper off. Best advice I can give is to control your eating. It's hard to do on the roids, but they can definitely cause you to blimp up. If you hit the gym while on them, it helps (also makes you feel a little more like Barry Bonds).

Pet abbreviations are interesting.
Whenever I read the abbreviated term 'roids'......'steroids' is NOT the first thing that comes to mind. ;)

Prednisone is a catabolic steroid, not an anabolic steroid. It will break muscle down, not build it up like the ones the sports guys use. However, working out will definitely be beneficial in the long run to keep muscles from atrophy.

Okay guys, I'm naive....roids to me does mean steroids.
