Had spleen out 11/25/13 and called surgeon today, I seem to be having a suture reaction. I work at a vets office and asked the vet what does a suture reaction look like and showed him and he said that. That is what I was afraid of, Saturday it was really red, hot and hurt, Sunday was the same as today (little red/hot on one end and little sore). So going to see surgeon on Thursday since that is the first day he can see me. Has anyone had this after 100+ days post op???? And if so what did you surgeon do???

  • Diagnosed in 2000, at 59, after being on moderately high doses of NSAIDs for arthritis. Splenectomy and rituxan both failed (2004). Did well on prednisone till summer 2018--then terrible reactions. Promacta since 11-19.

Amber, remind me. Did you have laproscopic surgery? I seem to remember something about a drain when you had your spleen removed, and that didn't sound like laproscopic surgery to me.

Yes Laproscopic, and it seems that I have pulls something in that area and not suture reaction.
