Promacta Tapering? was created by amberyard
Just wanted to know how Promacta is tapered? Right now I'm on 75mg (82k) would love to get off Promacta since it is very expensive. But just wondering how the taper is done?

You can reduce the dosage if it is keeping your counts up but once you stop taking it, unless there is an act of God, your counts will drop again.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:26
Blessings,

Server, actually we are seeing reports of people getting off nplate and promacta and maintaining counts. It is not a for sure thing that there will be a drop. That was the initial thinking but new evidence is emerging.

Seeing doctor 1/16 but just want to know how it is done, weeks? I am trying to re up the charity program but it isn't looking good and insurance is way too high but time will tell. Right now the program ends on the 31st and after that I will have to get my family doctor to do CBC's and skip on the specialist (self pay to see her $175 each time). So I just don't know where it will leave me and the Promacta?
