Lortab is very similar to Percocet and no aspirin in either of them. You'll be fine on either of those.

According to some articles I found, Lortab does have aspirin. This is sure confusing!

Both Lortab and Lorcet are narcotic pain relievers and both include the compound hydrocodone. The main difference is that acetaminophen is added to Lorcet, while aspirin is added to Lortab. While both acetaminophen and aspirin are non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs, these drugs work somewhat differently.

There appear to be two, Lortab without aspirin and Lortab ASA which is the one with aspirin.

A bit dangerous to have two different drugs with such similar names.

Well the old doctors office called and while I am waiting to see the new doctor (12/12/13 at 1:30). They set me up for IVIG's Friday, Saturday and to start taking Promacta again. Infusion center will do CBC before hand of course, if below 30 doing IVIG's if higher going home.

OMG!!! Went to the surgeons today to get the bandages and drain taken out. That was the worse thing I have ever be through..... Horrible!!! I now feel for the animals that have to get drains... I felt like she was pulling my spin out with the drain. But the surgeon said it looks good and the hole may take a couple of days to close. I get to take a real shower now......

Also I know have a cbc appointment at the old doctors office at 8:30 on Monday... Of course that is the day I am trying to go back to work.... Just want to get back to normal. I feel good better than I felt on Tuesday (other that the drain pulling).

It sounds like you're old Dr. hasn't completely dropped you if their office called and set up follow up care. Sounds like you're already better off with new appointments set up to move forward on you're own.

I googled around a bit ant found this link from the American Medical Associations frequently asked questions page regarding ethical practices. There are some things spelled out regarding appropriate follow up care practices and suggestions on how to go about making formal complaints if need be.

I wish the internet had been around to help me back when I had my ridiculously behaved Dr... If there's a simple follow up where you can insure that any Drs inappropriate behavior is documented I say it's worth stating your case somewhere. Just make sure you don't get caught up focusing energy somewhere that serves to distract you from what should be your number one concern right now which is your own health.

My goodness, you've been through so much! In my blubbing mess this morning I was thinking of you and praying you could have a remission soon. Hang in there.

  • Diagnosed in 2000, at 59, after being on moderately high doses of NSAIDs for arthritis. Splenectomy and rituxan both failed (2004). Did well on prednisone till summer 2018--then terrible reactions. Promacta since 11-19.

Was this a laproscopic surgery? Your recovery does sound a lot more difficult than most laproscopic surgeries. I've not heard of a drain necessary for a laproscopic surgery. It seemed to me quite easy surgery to recover from. Glad you're recovering well now.

Those laws must differ by state. My daughter's Endo decided to quit her on a Friday afternoon when she needed refills on her scripts because she refused birth control. She was left with no doctor until she could find a new one.
