Hey all! Just a quick drive-by posting to let you know my first NPlate injection was a success! Here's the numbers:

6.20.13---Platelet count of 1.
Received 1mcg NPlate and took 20 mg prednisone through the weekend.
6.24.13---Platelet count 77!! :woohoo:

The side effects have, thus far, been minimal; a little bit of a headache the next day and then 48 hrs later I was really tired. Other than that, though, nada! Hopefully, this will be "my dose" and won't need adjusted too much.

I did manage to gain 3 (more) lbs over the weekend, have elevated b/p and a rapid pulse just with 20 mg of pred so I will definetely be talking to my Dr. at this week's injection about dexamethasone pulse as opposed to oral pred. if needed in the future for rescue therapy.

Thank you for all your advice, sharing your own experiences and for generally being awesome! Hope all are well, God bless!

Well that is just such good news! Hope you can drop the prednisone soon. I'm right with you on the rapid heart rate on 12.5mg.

Yay for Nplate! That is a really low dose. I actually get 5mcg of Nplate so you are lucky! Hope your counts stay up!
