Hi everyone,
I tried to creep around and see if anyone already asked this but I didn't find anything recently. I've been treated for ITP since January, first on prednisone and then I did a dose of IVIg.

I'm about to start Promacta and I'm curious on what side effects people have actually experienced.

I had a severe reaction to IVIg (aka a 6 day migraine and a trip to ER - good thing I just graduated college and I don't have a job yet) and I'm nervous about starting another drug and having a bad experience. Especially since my brother is getting married in a week. I don't want to be "dying" when I'm trying to have fun.

What have you all experienced with Promacta?

Also of interest, my wife (who is the ITP-er, not me) is a migraine sufferer and also had severe headache after IVIG, but her neurologist diagnosed it as chemical meningitis, a form of aseptic meningitis that she got as a reaction to the IVIG. She could tell it was different from her usual migraines because of the neck pain. Perhaps this applies to you?
