I had two rounds of IVIG's when I was in the hospital this weekend. Just wanted to know if any side effects, they said flu like symptoms. I feel very weak worse than when I was in the hospital. Any info would be great....

After IVIG I had a very bad headache and felt weak and nauseous for about 2 days. I gradually started feeling better. I think it is common to feel kind of bad after. I definitely felt worse after the treatment than before but it did raise my platelets for a while.

I felt the same way last time. That is one of the reasons I opted out last week. Hope you feel better soon and it keeps your counts up!

I feel much better than I did this morning and yesterdays. Temp is about 99 which is high for me but they said not to worry if under 100. I have a CBCA tomorrow and re check on Thursday.

Amber,

When I had my IVIG I did not notice anything until the 2nd day (dose). I actually ran a little over 8 miles with the port taped down! After the 2nd dose I had a low grade headache for about 3 days. Just enough to be a nuisance. Tylenol took care of it.

Glad you are feeling better!

Jeffrey

I had no issues with it until after I had my spleen out. Then, it got bad, so I asked for a slower drip and that helped.
