Prednisone side effects was created by Redhead
Hi all,

I started a round of prednisone a week ago and am wondering if being extremely tired is normal. I have been warned about not being able to sleep but I am having the opposite problem. The first night I woke up in the middle of. The night and couldn't go back to sleep, the next night my 3 year old kept me awake, nights the next 5 nights I have gotten about 10 hours of good sleep. I am still just physically and mental worn out.

I am on 40mg and will be weaning off the moment I get my counts up. I responded quickly the only other time I was on prednisone, but I was pregnant then. The dose was only 10 mg. I don't think I can really use that as a gage.

Thanks for your help.

It's possible that it hasn't really kicked in yet. It took me about a week and a half to feel Prednisone on 60 mg's the first time.

However, I never had trouble sleeping anyway while I was on it. My days were so crazy and stressful that I was worn out by the time I went to bed (usually around midnight). I was always tired from diffusing my own mood swings and trying to keep my life normal. Tapering created more exhaustion, so I never really had the energy that some people claim to have.
