Hello, my mother has PTI 32000, for years, it is followed. Since 2 months takes 15 mg / day. And tomorrow, she began Rituxan, I very afraid of effects that may cause him. For me this is put poison in the body. Can someone enlighten me.
For now, tomorrow Rituxan treatment. For 15 years, he did nothing, it is only 2 months he started to give medication. Otherwise, my mother is a person in excellent health, no health problem. Have lower plate, is synonymous with cancer, leukemia? Thank you to you!

Val:

No, ITP is not usually synonymous with leukemia, especially after having it for 15 years.

Rituxan is a potent treatment, but most people do fine with very few side effects. Try not to worry.

Yes,try not to worry. Many of us have gotten very good remissions following rituxan. If it works your mother may not have to take other medicines for Itp at all. I had a 4 1/2 year remission the first time I took rituxan.
