After failure of IVIGs, steroids and Rituximab I will be starting nPlate injections. The most common side effect is headache... Is this preventable by being well hydrated, standing on your head during injection, etc? What has worked for you? I've sailed through everything else symptom free and would like to do so with this drug.

I have been on N Plate since Oct 2011 and never had a reaction only a little sleeplesness. Although the doc monitored it closely for the first 3-4 months. It seems it has been the only thing that has helped keep my plts up at a safe level

I was diagnosed with ITP in 2-2006. I have had my spleen out, IVIG, and Rituxin, but nothing has worked. I will be starting Nplate next wk....any thoughts or suggestions. I have read about it but I 'm always nervous starting a new medication

I hope this helps. I tried IVG and steroids unsuccessfully . I have had two Nplate shots now. One was a low dose because the doctor wants me on lowest dose possible. However last week, my count was at 24,000 so he doubled my injection to see if it would go up. I go back on Wednesday. I have had no side effects at all.

The only downfall for me with Nplate is having to have it each week. My only symptoms appear when Nplate is working harder with my body to produce platelets (when my count is lower), then my muscles spasm and I'm really tired.
