Out of Remission for the 10th time in 22 years.

I developed ITP in 1991 when I was pregnant with my son. I have been in and out of remission as of this morning... 10 times. I found bruises and petecia this morning....I was devastated. The last time I had low platelets it took over a year for anything to work.

ARE there any new treatments out there.??? Last time I tried Nplate (didn't work) and what ended up working was cytoxan, and I was really sick and lost my hair. I was hoping there was something new to try before i had to do that again.

I can't believe this. I am 52 years old and the dr said each time from here on out will get tougher. and he was right. I don't know what to do.

If anyone knows of anything new... please let me know.

What are your counts? Is not treating an option?

do you still have your spleen? That seems to have worked for me.. so far! (almost 15 years)

my count is 7000 they might try danazol.

i have had my spleen out twice. didn't work either time.

Danazol is slow to work if it does at all. Good luck.
