I got diagnosed 4 years ago with ITP (5 months on pred). In a few days I'm having surgery on my hand to fix a damaged tendon, so months ago it was decided I'd do 4 days of dexamethasone to get my count up. I have now done those 4 days (worked beautifully, went from 34 to 143 in 3 days), but I seem to be suffering with terrible withdrawl symptoms! How long does this usually last? I'm supposed to be back in work tomorrow but if I'm still going to be feeling this bad, there's no way I'll make it.

I feel like my come down from a 4 day dex pulse usually takes about 4 more days. Sorry.

By day 3 I begin to feel better, and day four I'm ok again. Personally I don't feel "good" till the 7 days after, and then I finally feel really great.

I'm a fan of Emergen-C, vitamin b-6 and eating really well for the next days as well. Seems simple but it helps. Good luck!

After a 40mg x 4 day pulse, it takes me a day for the "Aaaarrrrrggghhhhh!" to fade some, then another 1-2 days of what I call 'jello-days'...where I feel like jello.
I try not to drive much when I take Dex....and I avoid interacting with people as much as possible.
