mixed medicine

today i do my cbc and my platelet count turn out to 5 again, doctor gave me mixed medication and I dont know id he is just guessing, it sucks because he want me to remove my spleen at this stage I was diagnosed only last june 2012, I was telling him if I can try rituximab and he was telling me it is very expensive since I dont have insurance, now he is giving me a prescription of mycopenolate 250mg twice daily, danazol once daily, eltrombopag 50mg for one day prednisolone 10mg every other day.

Do you think this mixed medicine will be good, by the way I also need to drink tranexamic acid because I have few gum bleeding.

I know rituximab runs about 10k a dose, and you get four doses. It needs special tubing which costs extra because the stuff would eat through reg IV tubing. I'm not sure about that cocktail mis of drugs, never heard of that before. Good luck, Sorry you are in this boat. Keep your chin up

That sounds like a lot of things to take together, how would you know what works? And why two steroids at the same time?

I dunno - I haven't heard of a cocktail like that. Maybe it's common and I just haven't heard of it.

That is an odd mix of drugs, it makes no sense at all.
With all due respect, if it were me, I'd be finding a doctor who knew how to treat ITP.

I know it was not good but the problem it was difficult to find a doctor who is having enough knowledge about itp, im here in dubai and medicine are very expensive I feel so helpless
