Does anyone get sick easy on nplate?

  • I'm 31 years old and a mom to two awesome little boys, I was diagnosed with itp when I was 17 years old. With no treatment my counts are 0-5 I am currently on nplate and I had a splenectomy in 2004

I have no spleen and I know u can get sick easier without one I just know the first year I was on nplate I had strept throat three times then pneumonia three times then a stroke I started nplate again three weeks ago and today yep I have strept throat and body aches everywhere just feels way to familiar to me any help here would be appreciated you guys are so helpful

i didnt get sick the past 3 weeks ive been on nplate and i dont think its one of the side effects. only a headache sometimes. hmm maybe its just cos of the spleen

I've not read anything from anyone else about getting more sick while on it and I can't think how it would cause it. I don't get any side effects and count today is 78 :)

Have not been on Nplate, but I suppose your illnesses could be a combination of no Spleen and Nplate. Not sure if the Nplate would weaken your immune system even further.

N-Plate isn't an immunosuppressant, so it shouldn't cause more illnesses in theory.
