Yes it is pretty normal. It shouldn't last too long though. Trouble is as soon as your body gets used to one dose we lower it again and you start all over again getting used to another dose. You should get the UTI treated. In an immunocompromised state it's easy to pick up infections and hard to get rid of them. I also found that steroids messed with my urinary system giving me a bladder inflammation with no actual infection and that lasted for months and was basically untreatable.

Oh that's weird, my answer is there but your first post gone. The forum is doing weird things lately since it was updated.

Good luck with your infection and your platelet count.

If don't know if you go from 10mg a day to 10 every other day basically cutting dose in half. My son used to go from 10 daily to 15 QOD so dose only cut by 25%. Once they tried going to every third day. Didn't work. Hope you are feeling better. Joan

Every other day steroids are said to be easier on the body than every day so your doctor is obviously thinking about your wellbeing rather than just your blood. Sounds like a good guy.

Good Luck!!
Feeling the way you do is No Fun!!! I found that my Iron level was low and was prescribed Ferrous Sulfate. Once the Iron level was within normal range, I felt much better.

Understand your feelings. Please try not to stress out, it just make it worse. Easier said than done though. Been there. Surely did not need to catch the flu!! Drink lots of fluids and try to get as much rest as possible. Hoping for better days for you!!!
