Hello all,
For those following my story or know nothing of my situation at all , I will give a quick recap .

I was diagnosed with ITP about 2 months ago now , I was given several treatments ( IVIG, Prednisone,Promacta and now a Splenectomy) . I jus recieved a Splenectomy less than a weak ago , everything went well , I'm home recovering now, I was admitted into the hospital with a platelet count of 6,000 and left the hospital with a count of 265,000. A few members of this site recommended I receive a second opinion before the splenectomy seeing as I was only in one month of my diagnosis... They scared me enough into doing just that lol, my week stay in the hospital I was able to speak to another hematologist and he recommended in my case I should get the Splenectomy due to this being the 2nd Time i was hospitalized in a week and away from my one year old daughter . He said he hopes the removing of my spleen works it's usually successful and if it were to fail there were a few other medications I could try being an out patient . As he stated everyone's situation is different . And seeing as I was stressing about who would take care of my daughter this stress was making my platelet count decrease as well . The procedure was not
Painful and the recovery is not soO bad, I'm sore but nonetheless im okay for now
