my 6-month Promacta check-up was created by weirdjack
My platelet count is a whopping 41k! The past 2.5 years is the longest time that a single drug has worked for me.

Ahhhhh....it is so nice to only have to get checked every 6 months now. I like my hematologist, but seeing him every six months is just fine. I've seen more than enough of him during the past decade.
After running the gamut of steroids and immune suppressants for many years, I started on Promacta 2.5 years ago. Here is the quick count history during my Promacta treatment:

2010 - Immune suppressants finally failed, I crashed to 4k, then began taking Promacta.
01-15-10 - 4k (50mg)
01-22-10 - 14k (50mg)
*increased dosage to maximum of 75mg/day.

03-04-10 - 32k (75mg)
03-25-10 - 52k (75mg)
05-20-10 - 47k (75mg)
06-07-10 - 40k (75mg)
08-30-10 - 67k (75mg)
11-29-10 - 64k (75mg)
*reduced the dosage to 50mg/day to lessen the side-effects.

12-13-10 - 45k (50mg)
01-03-11 - 56k (50mg)
06-23-11 - 52k (50mg)
12-21-11 - 47k (50mg)
06-18-12 - 41k (50mg)
