Papaya Leaf Extract was created by Lady Elly
Has anyone tried Papaya Leaf Extract to build platelets? I saw where it had helped someone in past. I am considering using it to build my platelets.
I have I.T.P. and my platelets drops to below 10,000 every 5 weeks. I have been on IVIG nearly every 5 weeks for past 1.5 year. I am concerned about the side effects of IVIG. I was on Predisone for 4.5 months in 2010, which helped at the beginning and then did not do anything except a lot of damage to my bones.
Was on the 4 treatments of Retuxin which dropped my platelets while on it. Tried Danazol and my platelets dropped.
Any suggestions? I feel desperate for help in building platelets and getting them to hold.

Have a look in the Natural Treatment forum as it's been discussed there.

Have you tried the immunosuppressants, mycophenolate (CellCept) or azathioprine (Imuran), or the TPO drugs, romiplostin (Nplate) or eltrombopag (Revolade or Promacta)?

Ann,
Thank you for your reply, I have not tried any of the meds you mentioned. Do you know if any have worked to help platelets hold? My hemotologist did mention azathioprine. Do not know anything about it.
