Rituxan is cleared in Alberta, but N Plate is not. I am fortunate my husband`s plan covers 80% and the other 20% is covered by a program where we are under a certain income level so I don`t have to pay.
Nplate worked for me for a couple of months and now my counts have dropped considerably, is this to be expected - I was really excited when my counts were up, the injections meant I didn`t have to endure my IVIG every two weeks (AKA trips to the SPA)so now I am a downer!!
I contacted my Provincial MLA as to why NPlate was not covered when it is considerably less expensive than the IVIG and was sent a load of political gobblydook plus the findings of the CEDAC drug review which approved of it in principal but did not approve it as they had no results on long term effects:unsure:
