Has anyone on N-plate developed a fever after the injection? I had my second shot on Tuesday and developed 100.5 fever today. Feel like I have the flu.

I've had high temps a few times over the last two years on Nplate. I assume it's a coincidental virus although it is strange that I never feel ill, just very hot. But then I don't get it after every injection so don't really know.

Hi Flashmom
In England we are told to ring the ward if we have a fever when on treatment. Or at least I certainly was told that when had rituximab in July.
I hope you ring the ward/dept where you attend and seek advice because it could well be connected and they will either instruct you to go in or give you proper advice what to do at home.

Joys of what to look forward to when on NPlate. Though I did have fever chills when on IVIG so nothing new. Rituximab was plain there.

If in doubt, ring the ward anyway and they will advise you what to do.That is best I think. Last time when I was on IVIG in June, they wouldnt give me paracetamol in case it disguised any further temp. So it is best to ring - best wishes

I wouldn't ring the ward for a high temp. Just take something to lower the temp if necessary. It's certainly not an emergency.

Rhiannon - you are asplenic with a history of sepsis. In that case, you should definitely call the doctor if you have a fever, but most others don't have to unless the fever gets too high or other symptoms are present.
