Rituxan and serum sickness was created by Sandi
This article is a little bit old (2007), but it's the first one I've seen that addresses serum sickness in those with ITP and rheumatological disorders:

Interesting article. I wish there was a study out there reguarding what effect pre-treatment drugs (Benedryl, Tylenol, steroids) have on serum sickness or even reactions during recieving rituxan. My hema insisted that I pre-treat with all 3 before rituxan, but I did talk him down to only getting 5mg of dex pre-treat by then end of my runs with rituxan.
So many variables with all this, I know there isn't the possibility to do a study with them all, but one could hope...

Usually the pre-meds will prevent during-infusion reactions, but not the delayed ones. They used to be protocol, not sure if they still are.
