Cautiously optimistic...could Nplate be working??

For the first time since my husband began this journey 4 months ago - he received some good news this morning. After about a month on the Nplate his count was up to 47k this morning! It's been a routine the last few weeks - small dose of IVIG on Friday with the Nplate but the counts by the next week would always fall to 10k or below, prompting another round of IVIG and increase in dosage on the Nplate. This morning we expected the same, but his count was at 47k so there was no need for the IVIG (first time he's gone a week without it for a while!)

Even more confusing is he's had a head cold all week. I read some people see a spike in the count - others a drop when they have a cold. So that is why I am "cautiously optimistic" that the Nplate is actually working.

But either way I think we are just going to enjoy this week's dose of good news and worry about the next count next Friday. It just felt so great to hear him happy leaving the doctor for once!

yea! Any rise in counts is a reason to celebrate! Not matter how long it lasts.
