Anyone treated with Vivaglobin or Hizentra?

I've had IVIG (Gammunex) for several years now, every 6-8 weeks, with no problems and works ok. Now insurance company will only approve Vivaglobin, which is not only a different drug but a different method of treatment. It's not an IV,but under skin injection that you (or home health care) do yourselves at home and only takes an hour compared to 7-8 for IVIG.

Have also heard Vivaglobin has been discontinued in USA as of April 2011, so don't know why that drug was even approved now, unless they think there is still some supplies out there to use. I also read past Viva patients were being referred to Hizentra.

Maybe it's ok but it's change from what I'm used to and comfortable with, so have some concerns. Has anyone used this at all and what are your experiences? Appreciate any help, comments or advice you have. THANKS!

It seems they discontinued it in April. When did your insurance company change to this drug? Can't imagine why an insurance company approve a drug that has been discontinued?

Sorry I can't help you - I've used neither it nor IVIg.
