Any opinions on one or the other. I was taking Nplate and didn't have very good results. Ended up in the hospital, and got IVIG (5/3/11), as of today counts are down to 29. Is the Promacta better? I was getting 3mcg per kilo with the Nplate.

I can't tell you for sure, but I do know that they are the same kind of drug. Meaning that they both stimulate your marrow to produce more platelets. Other than that, I have no clue!

Don't know if one is 'better' than the other really. However, if Nplate isn't working for you, Promacta is worth a try. Everyone reacts differently.
I hate needles, so I opted for Promacta. It's been working fine for a year and a half now.

I love Promacta...been on it over 2 years, with no toxicity issues and great counts. Easy to take and allows for freedom (ie vacations, etc).

I would never want to be tethered to a doctor's office - I had enough of that with WinRho and Rituxan...forget it.
