Went to the hematologist today.....good news........
I just got my results from blood work done on Monday, March 8th.
(I've been on Promacta for 1 week and 4 days before blood work.)

Platelet Count on 2/25/10 31,000
3/8/10 60,000

I'm very happy after such a short time. All liver functions are normal and I have no side effects. Thank you Lord!

What's been happen'n since 3/8? What dosage did you start/continue? I'm about ready to start Promacta sometime mid May..... after I return from Europe. My Rituxan retreatment may not work and Promacta will be my backup............ Hairball01

I was doing so well I haven't seen the doctor. I'm on only one pill of 25 mg. a day. I'll find out my newest count on Thursday, May 25th. I'll let you know then. :)

I finally started Promacta on 5/21 but did not get a baseline CBC. My next visit is 5/28 but the count may not reflect the actual results of the Promacta..... I've been on 20mg Pred for a couple months and this keeps my count in the 150k range. At 15mg. my count drops to 10-15k. I expect I'll be on a Pred taper-off that may last a few weeks. Keep me posted. THANX

Newest count- 95,000 5/26/10

I have to have blood work every month now (instead of every two weeks). I'm thrilled that I've gone from 31,000 in March on 25 mg. to 95,000 only 2 months later. I'm happy to be at 95,000. It's been a long time! I feel free! My liver counts and every other count is normal! Wahoo! Thank you Lord! :cheer:

I think that it's wonderful to have this great a count for the lowest dosage. I'm thrilled and my quality of life is definitely better. :woohoo:

I am still on 50 mg. of Promacta every day. My count every month has been between 120,000 and 150,000. I actually go for weeks without thinking about ITP. I love it :woohoo:

dmblank,

I hope to achieve what you're have with Promacta. It's been 5 months since I started and my count hasn't stablize yet, currently, I'm getting weekly CBC's and monthly liver enzymes lab. I would love to get montly CBC's labs and be able to forgot ITP for a while. It's good that my liver is ok.

Just curious, why didn't you stay with 25mg and be in the 90's instead of 50mg?
