Severe Acne after Prednisolone was created by kosmus
Hi,
I started my treatment with Prednisolone Oct 2010 (13k platelets), beginning with 80 mg and gradually reduce until 5 mg every other day at the end of January(platelets stabilize at 70k)
Last week I stopped completely the Prednisolone, like I said i've been since January with 5 mg every other day.
Also since january I've severe acne on my back, large inflamed bubbles.
My Hemo said it's usual in some people, and now stopping the Prednisolone everything will return to normal and my acne will disappear.
Does everyone have this severe acne? How long it takes to go away after stopping the Prednisolone.

Regards from Portugal
Pedro

Everyone is different as far as that goes. It can take a few weeks or months for the Prednisone side effects to subside. Some people have found that ProActive helps with acne.

Congrats on getting off pred! In terms of the acne I had severe acne on my face, it looked like a rash and it hurt. It took about 3 months for it to clear up I used regular pharmacy products as my Dr told me it would be go away once i was off of pred. Have you tried anything over the counter? Neutrogena and some other lines have products for body acne. Hope this helps!
