The last time I was on the site was 10/10/10. I still have ITP but this has been complicated with Transverse Myelitis. I've been in a wheelchair since 12/22/10 but I am learning how to walk with rehab help. I take meds for ITP but the TM is dominating the problems. I haven't given up on PDSA but the TM requires a lot of physical commitment with the rehab. Once I can walk on my own (with or without accesories)I expect to get back into the PDSA group. I haven't died, dissapeared or left the country, but my priorities have changed.
Thanks........Hairball

Hey Hairball! It's nice to hear from you. So sorry to hear about the TM - very scary diagnosis. I hope you recover soon.

good to hear from you. I've never heard of TM. How did it happen? Looking forward to hearing more from you again.

Transverse Myelitis: Mostly has to do with an infection or irritation in the spinal cord. Mostly uncurabile except waiting for the nerves to eventally reconnect....sometimes they don't. Definitive cause is undefined.... and without a cause there is no definitive cure. Initial onset: I woke up one saturday morning with a horrible headache and found I could not move my legs to get out of bed. Went to the local hospital, Charlotte N.C. Med Center and Duke Univ.Hosp. I am currently in rehab hoping to walk by summer.
