How funny you mentioned this, my hemo has recently, as of two weeks, tappered me down to a 5mg of Predisone every other day. And as of two days ago, been experiencing lower back pain. I wonder if this might be the connection...but unsure.:blink:

seems to me that I remember the doc saying that the prednisone effects some gland that is located just above your Kidneys. That may explain the back pain.

It affects the adrenal gland, but that shouldn't cause back pain. Could be joint/bone pain from the taper.

I've been off the pred since last December and all my old aches and pains are now back in full force. Some days it's all I can do just to get out of bed. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia long before I developed ITP.

I'm also tapering Prednisone. I was on 5 mg all last week, and now 5 mg every other day for this week before I get to stop. My aches and pains have started to come back, as well.
