Promacta treatment update was created by weirdjack
I saw my hematologist yesterday for a check-up on the reduction from 75mg/day dosage to 50mg/day.
49k yesterday...a little drop, but not much. Promacta is still giving me better counts with far fewer side effects than other treatments I've done over the years. And on the odd/plus side, I've lost 25 pounds in the past year. Perhaps Promacta will become the world's most expensive diet pill?
Anyway, platelet count is holding nicely around the 50k range and everything else is normal...no elevated AST or anything. Here is my Promacta dosage/count history:

*began Promacta treatment 50mg dosage
01-15-10 - 4k
01-22-10 - 14k

*increased dosage to maximum 75mg
03-04-10 - 32k
03-25-10 - 52k
05-20-10 - 47k
06-07-10 - 40k
08-30-10 - 67k
11-29-10 - 64k

*reduced the dosage back to 50mg
12-13-10 - 45k
01-03-11 - 56k
02-28-11 - 49k

thanks for the update jack. Very encouraging. I'm starting Promacta as soon as it gets here! Hopefully in the next couple of days. 50mg. Looking forward to the weight loss!
