body aches after stopping prednisone was created by iam4ual
I searched on this site for a while looking for the answer to this and just thought it easier to just ask. I have been on 100mg of prednisone I recently tappered off. (have not taken any in last 3 days) Last night I noticed I just kinda ached all over. Not really bad but just enough to be annoying. I knew after coming off I might be tired but I was wondering if anyone else had this. I also and getting over a cold but am not rumming a fever. Mainly last night I noticed my back hurting. Maybe I just over did it while on the steroids. But I would like to hear if anyone else has felt this way and what I should expect. And one last question I gained 7 pounds and have moon face and puffy back of neck. How long will that tkae to go down? I was only on steroids for about 4 weeks.

Thanks you guys for being here,
SHannon

Shannon:

Aching is a very common withdrawal side effect. It can get pretty bad for some people, so if you're only annoyed, you're doing good!

As for the moon face and buffalo hump, that can take a few weeks or months. It will go down slowly.

My last pred pill was Dec. 30/10 and it seems like all my old aches and pains are now coming back. I take a Tylenol in the am and one at night when I go to bed. If I'm really sore, I'll take one through the day.

Shannon and Cindi,

You might check out a topic I just posted in the Natural Treatment section, that addresses this very problem.
Look for the thread called "How to Attenuate Side Effects of Medications". It might prove of help to you.
